My passion for food comes from being a native New Orleanian and having a grandfather who was a chef. My family always prepared exquisite foods on all occassions and we lived in a city where food is deeply ingrained in its identity and culture. I have also chosen a career in dietetics, which is all about food and health. I have an very sensitive palate and an acute sense of taste. I love to cook and love to try new dishes.

Food to me is being together and sharing! It is reconnecting! Its an expierence of taste!!!! Growing up everything was a celebration with tons of FOOD!! Left- overs for days that my friends would eat after school! My Mom would love to see us all at the house eating her food and loving every taste! It also means family and friends having fun. In my culture if its not made with LOTS love, don't bother! You can taste the difference!

Food was always a big part of family holidays. My mother is a great cook and always served a full range of side dishes to go along with a main course or two. I always looked forward to holiday dinners. Whether with relatives in South Carolina, the creole culture of fried turkeys and crawfish boils or with my mother, food was has always been a fun part of life.

Nothing is better than a warm meal on a cold day. I enjoy cooking for family and friends and believe it brings everyone together. Some of my best moments have been sharing a recipe or a meal with my family
