Asado al Orno (BBQ by oven)

Select cuts of beef, chorizo argentino and morcilla cooked al orno, or in the oven. Argentine chorizo is most similar to Italian sausage in the United States. It is different from Mexican chorizo, which is most often a breakfast dish. The morcilla is a blodd sausage, a very traditional Argentine dish from the La Pampa.

Our dinner featured empanadas, oven baked spinach cakes, and milanesa, which is a traditional Argentine dish of thinly sliced beef and breaded. All of these items were oven baked. The salads included a mixture of peas, carrots and potatos, a hearts of palm salad, a traditional lettuce and tomato salad with endive, and a salad of mozzarella balls, basil and tomatoes with an olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing.
Also featured is a popular condiment called salsa golf, a 50/50 mixture of mayonnaise and ketchup. It was available ready-many in Argentine supermarkets.
